Since the group's creation during the Summer of 1994, Kay Morris & the Jewels have been touring extensively here at home in Canada as well as in the international arena. In less than seven years, Kay Morris and the Jewels; symbolically representing the spiritual riches found within the band's soul, have been able to break many religious, racial, and cultural barriers with her music. The group's musical material demonstrates a positive message and is voiced through Kay's energetic delivery; commanding voice which displays a beautiful balance between soft and reverent whispers to emotionally charged pleas. Metaphorically, the music of Kay Morris & the Jewels is somewhat "non-denominational" in its style, yet remains focused and fresh in its approach.

A singer/songwriter native of Jamaica and raised by two Pentecostal Minister parents, Kay was exposed to the two most important influences that have guided her life; spiritual faith and the message of music. It would come as little surprise that Kay began her singing career at the tender age of four! Over the past 20 years while residing in Canada, Kay has worked tremendously hard in order to explore and celebrate her musical and spiritual roots, which she has fully embraced from Canada and Jamaica.

Spanning outward from Kay's group leadership, like that of the growing branches from a thriving tree, are the "Jewels". The "Jewels" are shimmering female vocalists that provide not only harmonic support for Kay Morris' melodies, but also serve to re-affirm the strength of her message through song. These stunning gems are: Lori-Ann Williams, Danika Batiste, Marsha Davis, Ruth Williams & Anique Batiste

Providing the rest of the harmonic and rhythmic roots of the group are the ensemble of multi-talented musicians playing a variety of instrumental textures who support her every move: lead/rhythm guitars, bass, drums/percussion, keyboards, & organ.

Kay Morris & The Jewels' debut album, "Live Again" was first released in Canada in December of 1995 and featured two original compositions written by Kay. "Live Again" received quite a bit of airplay here in Canada as well as internationally, and is still being played by a number of radio stations well into the present. The success of their first album resulted in the band performing in various cities across Canada in addition to playing at various venues within the United States (New York, Detroit, South Carolina, Chicago, New Jersey, and Atlanta).

Building on the group's growing popularity, Kay Morris & The Jewels were awarded the 1996 Canadian Reggae Music Award in the "Top Female New Comer" category during March of 1997. One month later in April, the group performed on City TV's popular morning show, "Breakfast Television" aired in Canada.

At the beginning of 1999, Kay Morris & The Jewels released their follow-up CD entitled "ARMAGEDDON" and is presently being distributed nationally across Canada. Despite its apocalyptic title, the band's new album is fueled even more by Kay's positive spirit: exclusively she wrote eight out of the nine tracks found on the new CD. "ARMAGEDDON" has received many great reviews and is currently receiving airplay at a number of radio stations in Jamaica, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, the U.S., U.K., the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Spain, Africa, and the Caribbean, as well as here in Canada.

During the Summer of 1999, the song "God Can Turn It Around" was used as part of the theme song for the "Revival Time T.V. Ministry, which airs on the AIB Christian Network in Atlanta, Georgia.

During the Fall of 2000, Kay Morris & The Jewels released a "Praise & Worship" song on a compilation CD in South India, during the same time they released their hit single "PRAY A PRAYER FOR ME" in North America.

With the group's growing popularity & fan-base, the "Electrifying" Kay Morris & The Jewels was awarded the 2000 Canadian Reggae Music Award in the "Top Female Reggae Gospel Artist" category, they also put on a stellar performance at the award show.

With this as an example, the 'branches' of Kay Morris' music is proof that her message of a global spirituality is upon us and has taken root in the hearts and minds of many.
